Cracking that Window
Window update! Today was an interesting day – I had an interview for each option! This morning I met with a mom of a 15 month old little boy who need part time child care. I feel like the play time went well with us and the 2 little ones, I don’t think there were any surprises on her part as far as policies or contract stuff goes, and the little boy was sweet and very well behaved. I overall got a good feeling from it and she is going to look over the contract and such more in depth and then let me know what she decides. Of course this one child 2 days a week would not be enough income, but I’m going to be faithful in this small step and hope that more would follow. In fact, just a few minutes ago I received an email from another mom needing part time care! We are just in the beginning stages of talking but it is more response than I have gotten in a few weeks. If both of these work out then I’d be well on my way to helping my family! Keep praying!
This afternoon I meet with Mark who runs the marketing for a Christian children’s curriculum company that is actually based here in Spring Hill. The job is full time, customer service based on the phone and email talking with customers about the products, what would work best for their ministry, processing orders, and then handling any customer service or technical issues. While I was not initially looking for a full time position, this job has a lot of “perks” that makes me consider it. It is literally 2 minutes from my house so I would have no commute and be able to come home for lunch and see Charlotte and Jeff. It is also full time in that it is salary, health insurance, and vacation time – something I have never had if you can believe. I also believe in the company and the product – always a plus for a job, right? It is a small office, casual, very family like and that really appeals to me as well. I see it as a form of ministry to be able to talk with churches about their children’s ministry needs and hopefully provide them with support. All in all, if there was a job to take me out of being a stay at home mom, this would be a top runner. Mark will be out of town for the majority of the next 4 weeks and will be doing a few other interviews during his time back home. Because of this, they won’t be hiring for another 4 weeks or so. While it is a month away and it would be nice to know now and start working, it gives me adequate time to give the child care thing one more push and see what happens.
All in all, I feel like it was a very productive day! I just hope that at least one of those work out. (and not both! I don’t wanna choose!) Jeff and I talked some this evening about our different paths and there are so many out there! Does he continue building his freelance work only, should he get a part time job, should I? Should he look for full time work even if it is out of state? The timing all has to work out right since he can’t get a part time and I get a full time and he stay home with Charlotte and so on. We just have to keep praying and following where He leads. Being an adult is hard. :P

agreed. being grown up is no fun sometimes! I love you and am so excited for these opportunities. Will be praying for clear direction from the Lord as to where you should go. LOVE YOU!
