iPad thoughts

Thoughts on the newly announced iPad from Apple!   Now, I am not expert by any means, but living with a husband like mine, the fact that I used to work for Apple, plus my love of my iPhone and MacBook Pro gets me very curious and excited about these new products. I can’t wait to get to Apple Store Green Hills and get my hands on one to play with!

Awesomeness:

• huge screen
• battery life  -10 hours active, 1 month standby!
• accessories like a case and dockable keyboard look amazing
• pricing is totally amazing (I wonder if/how this will effect iphone/mac pricing…?)
• ability to use any carrier for 3G service!
• iWork rocks!
• iBook reader is beautiful
• love that it looks and feels and acts like a iphone, but has a few new features and things look a little more special, such as iphoto and ical apps
• Great that you can prepay for times you need 3G but it isn’t a monthly contract!!
• Apple’s very own A4 chip is inside!

Wants:

• ability to play TV shows/stream video i.e. Hulu??
• front facing camera for vid conferencing/ichat
• multitasking for apps

Curiosities:

• What it will be like to type on it
• storage/ability to save things and connect flash drive to upload/download
• seems like some games or apps could be awkward if you are used to the iphone screen since the controls and such would be spread out a lot further.
• flash ability?
• the name… we’ll see how it goes in the coming days/months, but it sounds a little too feminine to me if you catch my drift.  Or maybe this device will change the meaning of the word!  iPad… huh… ;)
• Jeff will want one. Heck, I want one! He will try and find a way to use one in his business within the next 90 days.  Why 90 days you ask? Because that is when they will ship ;)

   I know the new ipad looks great and cant wait to get one for the girlfriend. Excellent site by the way.
